Introducing your host – Dr Nilesh Parmar

Introducing your host – Dr Nilesh Parmar

In the dynamic world of dentistry, few names resonate as vibrantly as Nilesh Parmar.

A distinguished dentist based in Essex with a profound expertise in implant dentistry, oral surgery, and restorative practices, Nilesh has carved a niche for himself in the dental community.

Not only is he recognised for his unparalleled commitment to postgraduate education – with dental qualifications from every dental school in London – but also for his entrepreneurial spirit, evidenced by his successful completion of an MBA.

As we anticipate the upcoming British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show (BDCDS), we caught up with Nilesh to discuss his role of interviewing the headline speaker, Dragon’s Den’s Steven Bartlett.

Q: Nilesh, for those few who might not know you, could you please share a bit about your yourself?

A: I'm a dentist with two clinics in Essex and have vast experience in implant dentistry, oral surgery, and sedation work.

Known for my extensive postgraduate education, I also ventured into an MBA, reflecting my keen interest in merging dental expertise with business acumen.

Q: You've been announced as the interviewer for Steven Bartlett at the BDCDS. How do you feel about this opportunity?

A: It's an exciting and somewhat unexpected opportunity.

I've been a fan of Steven’s work, his entrepreneurial journey, and his insights into business and personal growth.

Interviewing him is not only an honour but also a unique chance to bring fresh perspectives to the dental community.

Q: As a practice owner, what are the current challenges and dynamics in the business of dentistry?

A: Running a dental practice is immensely rewarding yet challenging.

The landscape is shifting towards more fundamental dental work, and private practices are gaining a larger market share.

However, the business is also facing pressures from regulatory requirements and the need for a more significant government focus on dental healthcare.

Q: What do you hope to learn or discuss with Steven Bartlett, considering your background and his?

A: Steven brings a fresh perspective from outside the dental field, which is invaluable.

I'm interested in his views on the future of dentistry, practice valuations, and the psychological aspects of running a practice.

Additionally, his experience with overcoming challenges and diversifying interests will undoubtedly offer critical insights for dentists at all career stages.

Q: The interview with Steven Bartlett seems poised to offer insights not just for practice owners but for the broader dental community. Can you elaborate on this?

A: Absolutely. While the focus might be on practice owners, Steven’s entrepreneurial wisdom and life experiences are universally applicable.

Young dentists, established practitioners, and even those looking to diversify away from clinical dentistry will find value in this conversation.

Q: How can people get in touch with you for questions or to bounce off ideas before the event?

A: I'm accessible and open to engaging with anyone interested.

The best way to reach me is through Instagram @drnileshparmar.

Whether it's a pressing question or just a curiosity, I welcome the interaction.

Q: Any final thoughts as we approach the BDCDS?

A: I encourage everyone to come with an open mind and ready to engage.

Steven Bartlett's journey and insights, combined with the unique challenges and opportunities in dentistry, promise to make this an unforgettable event.

Let's seize this opportunity to learn, grow, and be inspired together.
